Florida is hard on boats. Salt sits in every seam, the sun cooks gelcoat and vinyl, rain spots dry to chalk, and birds do the rest. Detailing here is maintenance, not cosmetics. Consistent washing and waxing is the cheapest thing an owner can do to keep a hull bright, keep stainless from pitting and keep the interior out of the mildew cycle.
Work is done by the same person who captains and manages boats for other owners, which shapes how it is done. Hatches get closed, drains get checked, and anything found — a weeping fitting, a chafed line, a soft rub rail — gets reported rather than washed over.
What's Included
- Full fresh-water wash down: hull sides above the waterline, topsides, decks, non-skid, cockpit and transom.
- Salt and film removal from glass, isinglass and clear enclosures using products rated for vinyl windows.
- Hand wax or machine polish of gelcoat, with compound work on oxidized and chalked sections where needed.
- Brightwork: stainless polished and sealed, rails, cleats, hardware and hinges cleaned of salt and rust bloom.
- Canvas, covers and upholstery cleaned and treated; snaps and zippers cleared and lubricated.
- Interior detailing: cabin soles, galley and head surfaces, refrigeration, lockers, headliners and interior glass.
- Bilge wipe-down and odor check, with anything unusual reported before it becomes a repair.
- Waterline scrub above the surface and a report on growth visible from the dock.

Walk the boat
We look at the vessel's actual condition — oxidation level, brightwork, canvas and interior — and quote against what is there rather than a generic per-foot rate.

Agree the scope and rhythm
One-off detail, or a recurring program with wash intervals and wax cycles set for how and where the boat is used. Access arrangements are confirmed with you and the marina.

Work at the slip
Detailing is performed in the water, with the marina's fresh water and power where permitted. You get a completion note and a list of anything found that needs attention.
Vessel Sizes Handled
Vessels from roughly 20 to 65 feet — center consoles, bay boats, express cruisers, downeast boats, catamarans, trawlers and flybridge motor yachts.
Anything reachable safely from the dock, the deck or the water line is in scope. Work requiring the boat out of the water, mast work aloft, or below-waterline bottom cleaning by divers is not something 27N performs — we will tell you what is needed and you engage the right specialist.

No. All detailing is performed in the water at your slip or mooring. 27N does not haul, block or trailer vessels. Work covers everything reachable from the dock, the deck and the water line.
In this climate and this salt, a wash every one to two weeks and a wax two to four times a year keeps gelcoat and brightwork ahead of the sun. Boats on open water or under heavy bird traffic need more.
No. With dock access and permission to board, detailing happens while you are elsewhere. You get a note and, where useful, photos when the work is finished.
